FAQ’S

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have some questions?

Contact Us
Can Friction One produce coated rotors?

Yes, we offer all sorts of coating and and painting options for improved corrosion protection and enhanced appearance — ideal for long shelf life and premium branding. This includes electrophoretic, GEOPRO, and Carbon-Tech coatings, as well as full disc painting, hat and edge painting, and zinc plating styles.

What quality controls are performed on each disc?

Each rotor undergoes Dynamic Balance Testing, Runout Measurement, and Thickness Variation Control (DTV) to ensure smooth, vibration-free braking.

What materials are used for Friction One brake discs?

We use G3000 and GG20 cast iron alloys to achieve optimal balance between strength, heat dissipation, and wear resistance.

What vehicle coverage does Friction One offer?

Friction One offers more than 15,000 SKUs, covering over 99% of global passenger vehicle applications across brake pads, discs, shoes, and hardware kits.

Can Friction One develop new SKUs or custom formulations?

Yes. Our in-house R&D and tooling teams can reverse-engineer and validate new products in under 30 days, from mold design to testing and production.

Can Friction One help us design and launch a new private-label program?

Absolutely. Friction One regularly partners with distributors and retail groups to develop complete private-label programs — from product selection and catalog setup to custom packaging and branding design. Our in-house marketing and engineering teams collaborate with customers to create exclusive formulations, box designs, and product visuals that align with your brand identity and market positioning. We can support full program rollout, including sample production, testing documentation, and packaging validation within just a few weeks.

What is your lead time for production and delivery?

Standard lead times from China are typically 30–45 days, depending on order size and product line. For repeat SKUs, we can provide priority scheduling to reduce turnaround time. Lead times for products coming from Mexico will be even shorter, depending on volume and SKU.

Can your products be sold in the U.S. and Europe? What certifications do you have?

Yes, our products can be sold globally. All formulations meet U.S. SAE J2784, SAE2707B, SAE2521 and ECE R90 standards, ensuring compliance with North American and European markets. Our facilities are certified under ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO45001, and ISO50001, with additional "National Green Factory," "High-Tech Enterprise," and "Little Giant Enterprise" designations awarded by the Chinese government.

What materials do you use for brake pads?

We produce low metallic, semi-metallic, and copper free ceramic formulations, developed through our in-house material R&D lab for optimized noise, dust, and performance balance.

What differentiates Friction One from other Chinese suppliers?

Unlike most suppliers, we own our tooling, operate automated production lines, and manage all R&D, casting, and assembly in-house. We are one of the only brade pad manufacturers globally that operates and makes our own backing plates. This guarantees repeatable quality and faster new product development.

How do you support customers after purchase?

Our global customer service team provides 24/7 customer service, engineering support, warranty handling, weekly updates on every PO's status, and on-site visits to ensure technical alignment and long-term partnership success.

How are Friction One brake pads manufactured?

Our pads are produced using positive-mold pressing, ensuring consistent density, improved braking stability, and long life. We also apply advanced scorching and chamfering processes for faster bedding and quieter operation.

What testing do your brake pads undergo?

Every pad is validated through Link dynamometer testing, NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) evaluation, and road testing, ensuring performance consistency and compliance with ECE R90 and SAE J2784 standards.
